This is Isaak and the snowman he built for us last week, and the other picture is Jimmy and Connie in 1978. Times change but we get pleasure out of the same simple things; our kids, and the snow. I know, Isaak, you are not our kid, but thanks anyway for making us a small snowman.

Snow Again

This morning was one of those mornings when I just couldn't stay in bed. It had been so quiet in the night and we knew it was snowing. So as soon as I could, I had to see what our world looked like. And it was awesome indeed! We feel so blessed to live where we do and have the views that we do. Of course, along with the beauty comes the snow shoveling. Jim has been doing this job for about 40 years. Today the snow was sticking to his shovel, even after spraying it with a lubricant. Too bad we didn't have any little guys around to make us a snowman. I miss those days.

A little desert reprieve

We took a few days off to visit the desert again and this time camped instead of volunteer with DV National Park. It felt good just to be tourists, visit with friends and relax. Our good friends, the Eggers went along too so of course that made it even more fun!
