The last couple of days we've been watching the smoke creep up Death Valley from the south.
Today we are almost completely covered and our normally, bright, blue skies cannot be seen. This morning we watched racing
cycles leaving the Furnace Creek Ranch, heading up to Scotty's Castle. It's called the Double Century Bicycle ride and 300 were suppose to participate.
I spent the morning painting white arrows on the campground roads and
sprinkling beads of glass
on top the paint, a job I have never done before. Even with the arrows, people have a hard time driving in directions they are not used to. Lots of complaints! When you talk about fire
safety, they seem more agreeable.
Happy Birthday to our Madison! (
yesterday, I know!)
Jim has spent the morning getting our seven bulletin boards up to date.
A poor person fell of their bike
yesterday and broke a bone and had to be taken to Los Vegas by ambulance. In their 70's and riding a new bike! We are inspired by the
spiciness of the campers that come to Death Valley. They don't let much stop them from having a good time!
Most are pretty rugged folks, who still are physically active. It sure beats sitting at home watching TV all day!
So long for now.
